Supporting sports activities for young people without financial means

In 2023, ROMGAZ financial supported a sequel program for the project “Promoting Professional Football in Mehedinți County” initiated by Viitorul Șimian Sports Club Association in Mehedinți. Viitorul Șimian Sports Club Association offered young people without financial means from Mehedinți County the chance to train for free, thus forming a football team that later participated in a promotion play-off following which Mehedinți County managed to have a representative in the 3rd League after 7 years. 

Currently, Viitorul Șimian Sports Club Association has 26 professional players, 25 enrolled players, a U11 children group of 15 players, a U13 group of 15 players, a U15 group of 15 players and 5 coaches. Their number was increased with 60 more players, namely with 3 children groups.

 The project sought to promote professional football in Mehedinți County in the Top League by supporting  and training the children groups U11 – 15 players, U13 – 15 players and U15 – 15 players and, in addition,  by forming a female group pf players.
