Support for people with disabilities for the purpose of valorisation and their reintegration in society

In 2023, ROMGAZ financially supported the project: “People with disabilities – valorisation and reintegration through sports” initiated by Sibiu Community Sports Club.

The purpose of the project was to support disabled people in order to valorise and integrate them in society through sports, namely through practising wheelchair basketball, through organizing wheelchair basketball camp for 7 Romanian basketball teams, and through promoting activities for people with disabilities.

Since 2015, Sibiu Community Sports Club Association has helped Sibiu community to develop a healthy lifestyle, trying to attract as many members of Sibiu community and others as possible to exercise through sports and hiking and thereby to contribute to a better society. A very important component of the club is training with people with motor disabilities. It is extremely important for them to feel accepted by the community, to be looked at with dignity, as people who live their life like we do. Sports is the method chosen by Sibiu Community Sports Club to integrate them.
